In 2002, combined sales of the world’s 200 largest corporations…
  • accounted for 29% of world economic activity,
    but provided only a tiny fraction of the world’s jobs: the top 200 multinational firms employed less than 1% of the world’s workforce.


  • Combined sales of the world’s top 500 corporations were equivalent to 43% of the world’s GDP. These companies collectively employed only 1.6% of the world’s workforce.
