In 2002, the receipts earned by international tourism exceeded US$ 1 billion in more than 60 countries and territories.
Top ten earners:
  • USA remained the leader in spite of the second yearly decrease: -13% and -7% respectively in 2001 and 2002.


  • China moved up to the 5th position overtaking Germany thanks to its considerable good performance (+15%).
