East European consumers are experiencing an ever wider choice of soft drinks and this pushed consumption up 9% in 2003…- 25,900 million litres of soft drinks consumed;
- + 9% compared to 2002;
- + 45% compared to 1999 (or 8,000 million litres more);
- 37% of total volume are carbonated;
- bottled water has now reached 34% of the overall market;
- the fastest growing segments are energy & sports drinks, racing ahead by 22% and 21% respectively, but from very small bases.
Russia moved past Poland to become the biggest national market for the first time in 2003…
