Considering all drinks, carbonated soft drinks are globally the third most-consumed beverage
  • CSDs* are the most consumed drink in the soft drinks market, with volume of sales reaching 186 billion litres** in 2002;


  • worldwide, the per-capita, annual consumption - 29.48 litres - is nearly 4 times the per-capita consumption of fruit beverages (7.9 litres).


  • CSDs are now much closer than in the past to milk consumption, which fell to 32.2 litres per person (196 billion litres in total).
