wild animals
Each year, about 10 million wild animals are killed in traps for the fur trade…
  • the most commonly used traps are: the steel-jawed leghold trap, the use of which has been banned throughout Europe, the conibear, and the snare.
Did you know?
  • On average, for 1 intended target animal trapped, 3 non-target animals are caught. Trappers call these unintended victims 'trash'.

  • It takes 40 raccoons to make 1 fur coat and about 120 'trash' animals will have been caught by the trapper. So a total of 160 wild animals will die just to make 1 raccoon coat.
