Biomes are locations, areas or regions where a certain type of habitat dominates…
  • 5 out of 14 biomes listed by the 2003 State of the World's Protected Areas Report still have quite low protection levels. In particular, lake systems and temperate grasslands fall well short of the 10% protection target.
