burger fast facts

Americans eat about 72 billion quarter-pounders a year. To produce all that beef they need...
  • more than 36 million cows!

    1 cow = 500 pounds of meat (about 225 Kg) = 2.000 quarter-pounders)
...and what goes into a hamburger?
  • 600 gallons of water (about 2.271 litres), to make every quarter-pound burger;

  • 2.400 one-quart bottles of water (or enough to fill 11 bathtubs) for 1 burger;

  • and more than 1.3 pounds of grain (about 0.59 kg) is what a cow had to eat to make that quarter-pound of meat!
