Organic food & drink retail sales were around US$ 9.5 billion in 2001…- 39% of Americans use organic products (2002),
- but only 0.3% certified organic land = 2.3 million acres of US total farmland for crops and pasture (2001).
Yearly growth rate of exports to:
Europe | about 15% | Japan | 30 to 50% |
Annual growth rates between 15-20% are expected over the next few years, which makes the US the most vigorous organic growth market.
