Cites – the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora is an international agreement between Governments. Its aim is to ensure that international trade in wild animals and plants does not threaten their survival. Visiting its species and trade databases is a MUST for all those interested in preserving biodiversity.
IUCN Red List – the World Conservation Union’s website is an international and authoritative source for all those who look for update lists of all endangered species worldwide and more specific information by country, species and sub-species. [www.redlist.org] YXC

UNEP World Conservation Monitoring Centre – the UNEP WCMC website provides information (data, reports, etc.) on the living world status: species conservation, forests, protected areas, marine, mountains; freshwaters, and climate change. This represents an excellent source allowing a deeper look at biodiversity. Despite the complexity of the issues, the language is very clear and the navigation is quite user-friendly.
