How to encourage people to switch to more sustainable lifestyles? education plays a key role: it gives us the instrument to understand and interpret the world around us, developing critical thinking and sense of citizenship. It is also the main tool to tackle poverty. Still today, illiteracy remains a major challenge for the whole of humanity. preserving cultural diversity and traditional knowledge represent the best guarantee of survival for many people all around the world: linguistic minorities, populations at risk, threatened sites… A continuous ‘memory dogwatch’ allows us to reinforce our sense of community and to overcome intolerance. In an ever-lasting-process, we learn from each other, thanks to inter-generational exchange, networking, and carrying the torch for future generations.
