initiative: ITCH is a new exhilarating initiative, made in cooperation with SUSTAINABLE SOLUTIONS DESIGN ASSOCIATION and the graphic designer Kenneth Schultz. ITCH’s aim is to make fashion meet a sustainable and ethically justifiable production, as well as to link ecological thinking and the world of fashion.
purpose: the target groups of the magazine are designers and producers of textiles and clothes. The magazine aims at being a source of information and inspiration to designers and producers, and also to consumers. The magazine includes fashion spreads and inspirational pictures and drawings, but also informative articles on sustainable production. Naturally, the magazine is printed with vegetable dyes on environmentally sound paper and therefore the magazine carries the Nordic environmental certificate, the Swan.
"ITCH is not only for the private you - the eating, shopping, dressing and loving you. ITCH is also for the public you. The working you - for people in the design business. Often designers and manufacturers are turned off when eco-design is mentioned. Their eyes get all glazed and their worst nightmares are almost visible through their eyeballs: the thought of having to turn hay, cabbage and hemp into something great. We want ITCH to show you that sustainable design is not necessarily the equivalent of dullness. ITCH wants to challenge you to make eco-designs attractive."
magazine: ITCH is issued four times a year and is, among others, supported by the Danish Design Foundation. The price is DKK 50 / DM 13 / USD 10 / UKP 6 / FF 42. You can also join the Sustainable Solutions Design Association for DKK 250 a year and thereby receive the magazine and other publications from the Association. A membership without ITCH costs DKK 100 a year.
