Alfabetização Solidária (Alfasol) - the Brazilian NGO ‘Solidarity in Literacy’ has the goal of reducing illiteracy and stimulating the offer of public education for youth and adults in Brazil. Recyclart – this website could be defined as an artwork in itself. This is exactly the mood that characterises this Belgian no-profit association. The Recyclart project aimed at transforming the site of the Brussels train station Chapelle-Kapellekerk and its surroundings - which had developed into a neglected waste area - into a lively new quarter by means of cultural and socio-economic activities. Room to Read - a dynamic, results-oriented international organisation that establishes schools and libraries in Asia. Since its inception as a non-profit entity in 2000, the NGO has impacted the lives of over 400,000 children by building 100 schools, establishing over 1,000 libraries, publishing 23 new local language children’s books, shipping over 440,000 books, establishing over 45 computer and language labs and funding over 850 long-term scholarships. Shidhulai Swanirvar Sangstha (SSS) - is a Bangladeshi non-governmental voluntary organisation. SSS is trying to improve the quality and relevance of education with locally developed educational materials and ensure the schooling of underprivileged girl children by introducing mobile boat schools. Mobile Internet-Educational Units on Boats (MIEUB) are boats equipped with computer equipment.
