RADIOS & TV CHANNELS

Sustainability.TV - its offer ranges from live internet broadcasting of sustainability-related events (conferences, presentations, workshops), documentation on the internet and/or on CD-ROMs, to extensive journalistic support. Sustainability.TV also functions as a mediator between individual interest groups. Due to their extensive knowledge in the field, their staff are able to provide scientific support at various events and to function as cultural mediators. [www.sustainability.tv]

Radio Oxy-Jeunes (ROJ) - literally ‘Oxygen for Youth’ - offers a bold and empowering message to the youth and disadvantaged poor of Dakar, giving them both knowledge and a place to participate in public discussions. By broadcasting in seven local languages as well as French, ROJ is breathing emotional and political oxygen into the lives of young people suffering from widespread unemployment, HIV/AIDS, crime, and political impotence. Radio Regen - where ‘regen’ stands for ‘regeneration’ - is a community radio operating in Manchester, UK. Its Re-Mix The Streets initiative is a project involving socially excluded young people in radio work so that they can gain social recognition. Groups of youth are invited to organise music shows directly in the streets, wherever they are: the Radio Regen organiser provides support thanks to a portable radio studio. [www.radioregen.org]
