Housing, transport, tourism, people forced elsewhere are the main topics of this room. What do these issues have in common? Well, they all start from the same aspiration: having a place where you can feel safe and protected. Still, the right to build one’s own nest is not guaranteed to everybody throughout the world. That’s why in FACTS & FIGURES we have put together [sustainable building] and [ecodesign] along with [homeless] and [refugees]. Travelling (for pleasure) is an expression of the same desire. If you are eager to meet new friends, visit new places or discover other cultures, go straight to the DEP’T STORE. Here you’ll find ideas on how to [travel differently]; the cheapest way to live elsewhere for a while [(ex)changing houses], and how to contribute to fostering eco-efficient mobility [car-sharing]. If you are looking for smart ideas for building your professional future, you should run to the JOBS section. Here, [responsibletravel.com] will show you how to manage a sustainable travel agency. Those passionate for design shouldn’t miss the opportunity to visit [design for the world] where volunteering design to people in need is promoted. Talking about housing, the TRAINER’S ROOM displays several classwork ideas on energy and water consumption such as the [household water audit]. The tour cannot be concluded without having a look at the TEST & PLAY section: what does [sustainable housing] mean? And [effective transport]? Take the challenge and discover the answers!
