what: created in March 2001, Love the eArth.Fashion (LeAF) is an informative website addressed to designers, opinion makers and to the general public who love and respect the planet. LeAF is an emerging partner of the “Shopping for a better world” United Nations Environment Programme.
why: at a first glance, nothing seems to be more opposite than fashion and sustainable living. The LeAF association, on the contrary, thinks that sustainability and aesthetics could be easily conjugated through a creative approach.
activities:
- organisation of events promoting respect for the environment;
- publishing of booklets, catalogues, and magazines on the relationship between aesthetics and ecology;
- co-operation with designers (fashion, industrial design, art, etc.) for the creation of new eco-friendly products/services;
- collaborations with other publications (specialised magazines, newspapers, TV-channels, etc.) for shared editions of special issues approaching sustainable design topics.
