what do they do for YXC: partners of the Consumer Citizenship Network have published and spread information on youthXchange to teachers and educational authorities in their countries. The majority of CCN partners are involved in teacher training and many have encouraged their student teachers to use YXC. The Norwegian Consumer Citizenship Network partners, in cooperation with the Norwegian government, have disseminated the youthXchange programme to all secondary schools. In a recent handbook for teachers and teacher trainers, YXC was also presented in detail. This handbook has been distributed to all the pedagogical libraries and institutions in Norway.
latest news on YXC: Consumer Citizenship Network has arranged several teacher training seminars, the most recent held in connection with the fourth international CCN conference in Sofia, Bulgaria May 10-11, 2007. The YXC programme was presented to the CCN participants as well as to teachers from throughout Europe who attended a parallel contact seminar sponsored by the E-cons Network. A total of 221 persons from 33 countries attended. There are several teacher training seminars being prepared by CCN partners for the coming months. In Dublin, Ireland one will be held in September 07 and in Oslo, Norway in October 07.
quote on youthXchange: Numerous partners of the Consumer Citizenship Network have stated that “YXC provides a positive, well-structured and easily useable set of learning materials.” They appreciate the fact that YXC has both a universal section and a part with national cases and references.
future plans for youthXchange: The Consumer Citizenship Network will continue encouraging the use of YXC and try to contribute to the translation of issues in countries where this has not yet been accomplished. When possible, the YXC will continue to be an integral part of teacher training materials and seminars.
