Simply consumers or committed citizens? How to get informed about our rights? How to get in touch and act together? citizens’ participation to community life and networking can contribute in reorienting local policies and consumption patterns towards sustainability. Innovative community models based on solidarity and dignity, equal access to goods & services and fair labour practices help to foster peace & justice all around the world. Examples are given of initiatives to tackle discrimination, and how volunteering can play an important role in designing inclusive societies.
